Today we have a split slate of games in the majors.

For your afternoon enjoyment, you get to decide whether or not you want to play Coors and which dart throw of a pitcher you want to add to your lineups.

While in the evening, we get a ton of high-end pitchers in great spots with some dreadful pitchers facing off against the Nats and two teams playing in Chase Field facing each other’s gas cans.

It will be a fun day of baseball (as day baseball is always great), and hopefully the Index and your lineups come out on the right side of profit.

Because I like a lot of players on both slates, I am actually going to provide you a handful of plays on each slate, but for the sake of time, the analysis portion of each pick will have a very, very short narrative (maybe even a quip or two) with the stats for the batter or pitcher against their opponent. For example, “Analysis: X Pitcher – Owns a .325 wOBA this season, a SwSt% of 13.9 percent and a 25% K rate while team he’s facing strikes out 25% of the time versus RH pitchers and owns a paltry .280 wOBA against.”

No subjectivity, just stats today.

By the way, i am starting with the evening slate first and it will be free. I made the early slate free last week, so the evening gets a turn.

Evening Slate

Chris Archer – SP – Tampa Bay Rays – $10,800

Analysis: The Royals are Archer’s opponent tonight. They are 28th in wOBA against RH pitching and strike out 20% of the time. Archer dominates at home and has a 9.53 K/9 rate and an 11.9% SwStr rate.

Yu Darvish – SP – Texas Rangers – $10,700

Analysis: Darvish takes on the Padres at home. Against RH pitching, the Padres are 25th in wOBA and strike out 25% of the time against RH pitching, one of the worst strikeout rates in the league. Yu owns a 9 K/9 rate this season and a 9.7% SwStr rate.

Joey Gallo – 3B – Texas Rangers – $3,700

Analysis: Perdomo throws heat, but could get pounded here in a warm, hitter-friendly environment. Gallo has massive power against RH pitching while Perdomo owns a .372 wOBA, a 1.95 HR/9 rate and a 38% hard contact rate against LH bats.

Nomar Mazara – OF – Texas Rangers – $3,600

Analysis: It’s a Rangers stack day if the weather holds up, Mazara falls into the same category as Gallo, with less power, but he’s heating up. See Perdomo’s stats above against lefties.

Corey Seager – SS – Los Angeles Dodgers – $4,600

Analysis: Seager faces Chad Kuhl, who gets destroyed by lefties. Kuhl owns a .401 wOBA and a 38% hard contact rate allowed to lefties. Seager owns a .400 wOBA and a 48% hard contact rate against lefties since 2016.

A.J. Pollock – OF – Arizona Diamondbacks – $3,900

Analysis: Pollock owns a .343 wOBA vs. lefties with a .261 ISO. The Diamondbacks take on Matt Boyd, who owns a .336 wOBA against RH bats to go along with a 1.50 HR/9 rate and a 33% hard contact rate since 2016. This is Chase Field, too. Oh, and he’s only $3,900!

Early Slate

Kyle Schwarber – OF – Chicago Cubs – $4,900

Analysis: Schwarber leads off, owns a .373 wOBA, a .247 ISO and a 38% against RH pitching since 2015 and this game is in Coors. And the Cubs face German Marquez, who sports a .369 wOBA against lefties, and he hasn’t given up a homerun to a lefty this season.

Buster Posey – C – San Francisco Giants – $4,200

Analysis: If you have been reading, you know about Posey versus lefties. The Giants face Tommy Milone, who sports a .375 wOBA to RH bats and has a 2.07 HR/9 rate.

Carlos Gonzalez – OF – Colorado Rockies – $4,600

Analysis: One of the lone Rockies under $5K today. He hasn’t really caught fire, but has some BvP against Hendricks – 5-for-14 with 2 doubles and a home run.

MIchael Saunders – OF – Philadelphia Phillies – $3,300

Analysis: Saunders faces Yovani Gallardo, a contact pitcher that doesn’t have good stuff. Saunders is 1-for-4 against Gallardo, but also 5 walks. Saunders has patience in this matchup and gets to hit in a small ballpark.
