Hope all the dads out there had a good day with their family yesterday or sitting in peace and quiet watching some afternoon baseball and U.S. Open golf. Monday brings us a nine-game MLB DFS slate on DraftKings (10 on FanDuel with the inclusion of the Yankees/Nationals nightcap). I’m not in love with many stacks tonight so I will only be providing two and then just provide a few one-off hitters that interest me.

Let’s mow down the competition 3 Up and 3 Down…

3 Up

Ace

Trevor Bauer (FD-$11,200 / DK-$12,400)
Both Gerrit Cole and Trevor Bauer come into Monday as big Vegas favorites but Bauer is the pitcher that is racking up the strikeouts between the two righties right now. Bauer has double-digit strikeouts in four straight games including 12 against tonight’s opponent, the White Sox, just five days ago. The White Sox have the 2nd highest strikeout rate (27.1%) against righties over the last 30 days and Bauer has dominated White Sox hitters allowing just a .233 wOBA with a 31.7% strikeout rate in 121 plate appearances.

Value

Miles Mikolas (FD-$9,500 / DK-$8,300)
There isn’t a value pitching option that jumps off the page at me on Monday’s slate. Mikolas doesn’t have huge upside but he has been steady this season allowing two runs or fewer in nine of his last 11 starts. Strikeouts aren’t a big part of his game but he could register a few extra punch outs on Monday against the Phillies who have the highest strikeout rate against righties (28.1%) over the last 30 days. Give Mikolas a look in Cash games on two-pitcher sites but consider a pivot to Pivetta in GPPs.

Darkhorse

Tyler Anderson (FD-$6,200 / DK-$6,200)
I don’t have any confidence that the Mets can hit a lefty even though they are playing at Coors Field on Monday. The Mets have the 5th highest strikeout rate (25.0%) against southpaws over the last 30 days while ranking in the bottom seven in wOBA (.275), ISO (.113) and wRC+ (75) during that span. Anderson hasn’t pitched as well at home this season as he has done in previous years but he is capable of pitching well at home when the matchup is right, which I believe it is tonight. Give Anderson a look in GPPs.

3 Down

Top Stacks

Rangers vs. Ian Kennedy
Yeah, I know I have listed way too many players on my Rangers stack for tonight. I don’t expect all seven players on the list to find their way into the starting lineup but wanted to make sure you get exposure to the four or five on this list that are batting in the top six of the lineup. Kennedy has pitched better in his last two starts but I’m still going to pick on him with temps in the low 90s and the wind blowing out in Kansas City. He has allowed a .357 wOBA and at least a 1.35 HR/9 rate to both sides of the plate.

Shin-soo Choo (FD-$3,600 / DK-$4,500) – Choo is batting .353 with a pair of homers over his last nine games while batting leadoff.
Joey Gallo (FD-$2,900 / DK-$3,900) – Gallo has 13 of his 18 homers off righties this season including a .275 ISO on the road against right-handers.
Nomar Mazara (FD-$3,500 / DK-$4,000) – Mazara collected a pair of hits and three RBI in his return to the lineup on Sunday and has a .352 wOBA against righties this season.
Adrian Beltre (FD-$3,500 / DK-$3,700) – Beltre is batting .579 over the last six games.
Elvis Andrus (FD-$3,200 / DK-$3,600)
– Andrus could return from the DL on Monday and I’m not afraid to put him right into my DFS lineup in a game with a good hitting environment.
Jurickson Profar (FD-$3,500 / DK-$3,900)
– Profar is riding a five-game hitting streak including two homers but could be the odd man out with Andrus expected to return.
Rougned Odor (FD-$2,300 / DK-$3,200) – Odor brings some value to a Rangers stack while filling a tough position at 2B.

Dodgers vs. Tyler Chatwood
Chatwood is due for some regression with an xFIP over a run higher than his ERA and a low HR/FB rate of just 7.0% through 13 starts this season. Lefties have a .372 wOBA against him and the Dodgers bring a nice collection of left-handed hitting power bats to Wrigley.

Max Muncy (FD-$3,900 / DK-$4,500) – Muncy has mashed righties on the road this season with a .474 wOBA and .383 ISO.
Joc Pederson (FD-$2,800 / DK-$4,400) – Pederson is 5-for-11 with two doubles, a homer and four walks against Chatwood in his career.
Cody Bellinger (FD-$3,800 / DK-$4,500) – Bellinger has a .395 wOBA and .299 ISO on the road against righties this season.
Yasmani Grandal (FD-$2,800 / DK-$3,900) – Grandal is batting .545 with three extra-base hits off Chatwood in 11 career at-bats.

One-Off Hitters

Mike Moustakas (FD-$3,900 / DK-$3,900) – Moustakas can take advantage of the good hitting conditions in KC along with facing righty Bartolo Colon who has allowed 16 runs including six homers over his last three starts.
Matt Carpenter (FD-$3,500 / DK-$3,800) – Carpenter has homered twice in his last three games and has a .367 wOBA and .244 ISO on the road against righties this season.
Kyle Schwarber (FD-$3,400 / DK-$3,900) – Schwarber has hit all 12 of his homers off righties this season and will face Dodgers right-hander Kenta Maeda who has allowed a .356 wOBA to lefties this year.
