Today we go from an ugly Monday slate to an awesome 14-game slate.

If you are playing DRAFT today, there are plenty of ways to go, but also some weather concerns to consider.

Keep in mind we are not focusing on the early game between the Nationals and Rays. Why that’s happening at noon central on a Tuesday is beyond me (and I don’t care enough to do the research to find that answer).

Anyway, the format of the DRAFT Strat is simple – Rankings and strategy. Enjoy it all below

3-MAN DRAFT STRAT

Analysis: Today we have a ton of stud pitchers on the slate. You absolutely do not need to pick a pitcher in the first round. You have a choice between the following arms – Severino, Paxton, Kluber, Morton and Stripling. All are in favorable matchups, but of course it’s baseball so there’s never a guarantee. Outfield is most definitely the weakest position so you want to make sure you nab this position with your favorite players first. In my DRAFTs in this format so far, people are taking Mookie No. 1, followed by Trout No. 2. If you have the third pick, taking Martinez and Judge is a good move considering you would get Judge on the road in a hitter’s park.. However, Judge is not one of my favorite plays. If I have third, I am nailing down J.D. and Arenado every time. I would take Trout No. 1 or 2, same for Mookie. To round out my lineups in the later rounds, I am likely taking pitcher last so Morton, Paxton or Stripling will be my options. At IF and OF, I am looking at filling my roster with Freeman, Albies or Story. I will probably go Story though because he’s up against Derek Holland and the Atlanta game has some weather concerns, just like Cleveland. In the OF, it’s Wil Myers, Gallo or Blackmon for me. I like Rosario, but weather could be a big issue in Minnesota today.

6-Man DRAFT STRAT

Analysis: I have maxed out in the 6-man Grand Slam that is running today. This was another scenario where I knew I didn’t need to take a pitcher in the first round. Others will, leaving you with a choice between Mookie, J.D., Trout and Arenado as your first pick if you have a later selection. It’s likely you can nab Arenado in the later rounds. I like the Rockies stack today period (Arenado, Story, Desmond and Blackmon). You can’t play them all on DRAFT, but in 6-mans it’s a great low-round value stack for sure.  Combined, these 4 guys are 13-for=27 with 3 doubles, 3 home runs, 12 RBIs, 9 runs scored and 1 strikeout. If the weather shows that Atlanta will play, I most definitely love Freeman, Albies and Votto. The Rangers and Padres will carry some early selections, too. Damn, I may have to go load up on regular 6-man contests, too.
