The NFL was back in full swing in Week 13. No more Turkey Day slates, no more bye weeks, just football and loads of it. Overall, the experts had a solid week. Rotowire continues to separate themselves from the rest of the pack. It’s going to take a pretty big collapse for them to not finish atop the standings for the year. On to the Week 13 grades, class is in session!
Consensus Recap – Week 13
The Consensus provided fifty-two total picks for a 11th place finish and a nice Daily Overlay score of 3.65. Eighteen of those picks finished with a failing grade while we had thirteen “A+” scores. A position-by-position breakdown is below.
QB (Score: 3.00 / Rank T-9th out of 20) – An above average finish at the QB position. Helping the cause were “A+” grades from two QBs playing in the same game, Josh McCown and Alex Smith. Five of the 11 plays scored a failing grade.
RB (Score: 4.18 / Rank 14th out of 20) – A pretty good score but a low finish as the RB spot was a solid one for the experts. Perfect grades from Jamaal Williams, Marshawn Lynch, Kenyan Drake and Alex Collins led the way.
WR (Score: 2.67 / Rank 5th out of 20) – Overall, the experts struggled at the position as a score like this doesn’t typically find the top-5. Despite six failing grades, the Consensus was helped by “A+” grades from Larry Fitzgerald and Keenan Allen.
TE (Score: 4.33 / Rank 11th out of 19) – A nice score for the week but a low finish in the standings. Gronk, Travis Kelce and Cameron Brate all hauled in “A+” grades.
D/ST (Score: 5.33 / Rank T-7th out of 17) – The Consensus provided six plays scoring two “A+’s” and four “B’s” on the week. The “A+” grades came from the Ravens and Rams.
Head of the Class – Week 13
Each week I will highlight a few of the top experts for the week. Here are the experts that deserve a “gold star” for Week 13 based on their cumulative grades for all players they touted this week.
#1) Rotowire (Score: 4.71) had an extreme week. They made seven total plays and scored three “A+” grades and three failing grades. The “A+’s” came from Lynch, Kelce and the Ravens D/ST.
#2) ProFootballFocus (Score: 4.29) captured the #2 spot for the 2nd week in a row as they continue their march up the season-long standings. Seven of their 17 plays scored “A” or better including five “A+” grades from McCown, Williams, Broncos D/ST, Rams D/ST and Ravens D/ST.
#3) DailyFantasyNerd (Score: 4.22) “optimized” their way to a top-3 spot this week. Three of their nine plays score “A+” grades. Those plays were McCown, Gronk and Lynch.
Top Value – DailyFantasyNerd (3.07 DK Pts/$1000) took the “Top Value” title this week.
Head of the Class – Week 13 (By Position)
Sometimes there is just that one class that you excel in. In this section, I will highlight who the top experts were at each position for Week 13.
QB – RotoGrinders Lineup Builder, DailyFantasyNerd (10.00) used Alex Smith and Josh McCown, respectively, for their “A+” grades.
RB – FantasyLabs (10.00) played Jamaal Williams and his “A+” grade as their lone selection at the position.
WR – Sportsline (3.67) used an “A+” from Larry Fitzgerald to boost them to the top spot. Their other two plays received a “D” and a failing grade.
TE – Rotowire, DailyFantasyNerd (10.00) played Kelce and Gronk on their way to perfect scores.
DST – Rotowire (10.00) scored an “A+” with their Ravens pick. Special shoutout to FantasyPros and ProFootballFocus though who both made four selections and score three “A+” grades.
Study Time – Week 13
If we are going to give a gold star to the top experts of the week, we also need to determine which experts might need to put in some extra study time to pull up those grades. Here are the Week 13 experts that didn’t make the grade this week.
- DK Playbook (Score: 2.00) had a rough go of it in Week 13. Seven of their 12 plays finished “D” or worse including five failing grades.
- Daily Overlay – Value Index (Score: 0.75) had a week to forget. Six of Stephen’s eight plays finished with a failing grade while the remaining two each scored “B” grades.
Extra Credit – Week 13
In this section, I will look to give some extra credit to experts that received an A+ grade for a player where they were the lone expert to recommend. Week 12 extra credit goes to the following:

Here are the top experts in the Overall Standings after Week 13 of the season, including which site has provided the top DraftKings points per $1000 of salary. We had a slight shakeup at the top this week.
#1) Rotowire (Score: 4.04) hopped back above 4.0 on the season with a nice week. They have seized a death grip on the #1 spot.
#2) FantasyTeamAdvice (Score: 3.69) stayed flat for the week. That makes it two weeks in a row that FTA has stayed pat.
#3A) ProFootballFocus (Score: 3.60) bumped up their score .05 to leap into a 3rd place tie.
#3B) RotoGrinders Lineup Builder (Score: 3.60) maintained a tie for 3rd place despite a minuscule drop of .01 in score.
#5) DailyRoto (Score: 3.46) makes their first appearance in the top-5 for the year. A nice .02 jump in score puts them inside the money line.
Top Value – DK Playbook (2.89 DK Pts/$1000)
The DailyOverlay Industry Consensus held steady in 17th place in the overall standings out of 21 experts.
