POINT GUARD
John Wall (WAS) $9,100 v. Pelicans
Washington at New Orleans will be one of the two fastest games in terms of pace tonight, and it should stay relatively close (Pelicans -3). It’s going to be a good one for fantasy purposes, and I like stacking multiple players from this game. Wall has gone for 58.5 DK pts or more in four of his last six, and he’s my top PG play.
Kemba Walker (CHA) $7,000 v. Grizzlies
Here’s something to consider… when Al Jefferson is on the floor, Kemba’s usage is 21.9%. When he’s off, Kemba’s usage is 27.0%. Although a match-up with the Grizzlies has traditionally been less than ideal, I think the usage bump more than makes up for it.
Patty Mills (SAS) $3,600 v. Lakers
If you feel like playing Popovich’s version of minutes whack-a-mole, Mills is an interesting (but incredibly chalky) play tonight. The Lakers struggle defending point guards, and Tony Parker has been ruled out for tonight. Seems like a perfect storm for Patty to have a big night.
SHOOTING GUARD
Tyreke Evans (NOP) $6,900 v. Wizards
In three non-blowouts since his return from injury, Evans has scored 45.25, 32, and 37.25 DK pts. I already mentioned WAS/NOP is a game you should be targeting, and Evans makes for a fine play at SG. As an added bonus, game loggers might be scared off by his 6.5 FP in 18 minutes performance last time out.
Bradley Beal (WAS) $7,200 v. Pelicans
Beal should see about 38 minutes and 26% usage in a fast-paced and close game. Opposing SGs have seen about an 8% bump to their fantasy production when facing the Pelicans this season. Need I say more?
SMALL FORWARD
Nicolas Batum (CHA) $7,500 v. Grizzlies
Batum has been routinely churning out 40 point games lately, and he’s a constant triple double threat. Even though the Grizzlies’ D has been a bit down this year, they’re still not a unit I’m actively looking to target. That said, the price is right, and Big Al is out. He should be good for 13 shots and a full line.
Marcus Morris (DET) $5,900 v. 76ers
On one hand, you’ve got to be worried about minutes when targeting players against the Sixers. On the other, a team has to do lots of things that result in fantasy points to build a big lead. So while Morris’ minutes might be a little down tonight, they’ll be better than average minutes. Despite playing a slower pace, Philadelphia has been horrible against forwards (small and power alike) this season. Most forwards see a 15-20% bump to their per minute production against Philly, so I’ll be using Marcus tonight.
POWER FORWARD
Chris Bosh (MIA) $7,200 v. Pacers
Did you know Indiana is tied with Oklahoma City for 7th in the league in pace? And they’re only a fraction behind Houston. Roy Hibbert is gone, and the Pacers are playing with some… pace. Get it? I’m the worst… It’s an up in pace game for the Heat, and $7,200 is reasonable (read: cheap) for someone like Bosh.
Jon Leuer (PHO) $5,200 v. Blazers
Jon Leuer, man. Am I right? The former Badger has been given a chance to shine with Tyson Chandler on the shelf and Markieff Morris in an NBA version of timeout, and he’s taken full advantage. Leuer is averaging nearly 1.0 FP/min for the season, and he has a great match-up tonight against Portland.
CENTER
Marcin Gortat (WAS) $6,000 v. Pelicans
After spending the first 20 or so games of the season in fantasy obscurity, Gortat has seen at least 33 minutes and scored at least 34.5 DK pts in each of his last four games. Get on board and ride the wave.
Frank Kaminsky (CHA) $3,400 v. Grizzlies
Al Jefferson’s injury (and forthcoming suspension) have opened up some minutes for Frank the Tank. He’s averaged roughly 20 FP in 30 minutes per game over the last two, and that’s pretty much all I’m looking for. Twenty DK pts at $3,400 is fine by me, and he has the game to exponentially pay off his salary.
